Can you really measure innovation with an end-of-year Top Ten list? Forbes and Thomson Reuters gave it a shot at the end of 2011.
Their respective analyses, Forbes.com’s The World’s Most Innovative Companies and Thomson’s 2011 Top 100 Global Innovators, of the world of inventions, innovation and patents, produced wildly different results.
I thought a look at what characterizes one innovative company over another would make a very interesting, albeit, somewhat long post on IPfolio’s standalone blog.
Invention and Innovation Are Not Synonymous
My conclusion was that there isn’t a truly objective and linear relationship between inventions and patents and innovation and stock market performance.
